New furniture for Penang primary school
Wednesday January 16, 2008 SRK(C) Eng Chuan in Penang received furniture worth RM2,500 from Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Lee Hack Teik’s service centre. The four office tables, two stainless steel cabinets, 10 office chairs and 100 pencil cases were handed over to headmistress Ch'ng Nee Nee. “Although this primary school is small, it has good facilities. Recently, five teachers were posted to the school,’’ Lee said, urging parents to have confidence in the school and send their children there. The school at Lebuh Katz currently has 59 pupils. Lee’s service team also distributed pencil cases to two other primary schools and a kindergarten nearby. SJK (C) Beng Teik received 20 pencil cases, SJK (C) Sum Min received 100 pencil cases and Jalan CY Choy Rukun Tetangga kindergarten received 30 pencil cases. Present at the presentation were Penang Municipal Councillor Lim Kean Guan and state Gerakan Youth secretary Oh Tong Keong. - THE STAR |
